All You Need To Know About the Engine and Interior of the 2020 Ford Super Duty is Here

The 2020 Ford Super Duty shows a significant update for the carmaker’s lineup of heavy-duty pickup trucks. Although this generation (the fourth) only debuted as recently as 2017, the 2020 models received improved front and rear ends, and more equipment, including the most powerful engines and the highest capacities these trucks have ever had. The F-250, F-350, and F-450 all receive restyled front ends, and the dual-rear-wheel models have their own distinct face. Let’s get to know more about it here. But you can always get in touch with Capital Ford of Wilmington for more information.

Engine
Ford leaves the 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine that comes with the 2020 Ford Super Duty unchanged. The carmaker incorporated a brand-new 7.3-liter gasoline V8 engine. The 6.7-liter V8 diesel option in the 2020 Ford Super Duty also gets an upgrade. Ford has made significant enhancements to the turbocharger and fuel injection system, bringing in robust internal components. This results in enhanced performance power and torque, along with more efficient fuel combustion and less noisy operation. The car also comes with a new heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission in place of a 6-speed unit. It weighs only 3.5 pounds heavier but blends beautifully into the same space. Not to forget, it also features a power take-off (PTO) to operate snowplows and generators.

Interior
Every version of the 2020 Ford Super Duty has 4G LTE Wi-Fi and connection support for up to 10 devices. The new type C USB port also becomes available, in addition to wireless device charging. Two trims, namely Lariat and Platinum, get minor cabin makeovers, while the interior of the top Limited trim gets a more extensive spruce-up. There are trim accents of brushed aluminum and coarse ash, a simulated suede headliner, and leather upholstery in the Ebony and Highland Tan trims.

The 2020 Super Duty will also come with Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which is a system presently found in the lighter-duty F-150 range. This feature eliminates a lot of stress of hitching up a trailer. The 2020 Super Duty is also loaded with a suite of driver-assistance technologies, which include lane-departure warning, automated emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.
